Best thing about representing the destination of Hershey: I love telling the story of Milton S. Hershey and the community he built in central Pennsylvania. This started as a factory town, and Mr. Hershey took every step to ensure that it was a place where people would want to live, work and play. More than 65 years after Mr. Hershey's death, the town not only survives, it thrives! And, of course, I love the "hidden" story, too – the fact that Mr. Hershey and his wife Kitty couldn't have children of their own, so they bequeathed their fortune to Milton Hershey School.
Favorite ride at Hersheypark: That's a three-way tie between our high-thrill roller coasters (listed in "birth" order) – Great Bear, Storm Runner and Fahrenheit.
Favorite animal at ZooAmerica: I love the bears. And the prairie dogs. But I also love our ocelots, Nib and Bean, who came to the Zoo in honor of its centennial in 2010. Please don't make me choose!
Favorite treatment at our Chocolate Spa: Definitely the Cocoa Facial Experience, with the Chocolate Fondue Wrap as runner-up.
Favorite Hershey's product: Today it's the Golden Almond Bar, because it's so darn good and it's only available at select locations. But ask me tomorrow and you’ll probably get a different answer.
Favorite "fun fact" about Hershey: Much of the town dates to the Great Depression, when Mr. Hershey used his wealth to embark on a building campaign aimed at keeping every single townsperson employed. That's when he built The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Theatre and countless other facilities around town.
Most memorable moment in Hershey: I always get choked up when the "Little Big Band," a group of elementary-age musicians from Milton Hershey School, plays its version of the song "Candy Man." To know that these students are playing the song as a tribute to Mr. Hershey, the man whose generosity and vision continue to make so many things possible for them, just tugs at my heartstrings.
